About SubnetScope

A small, opinionated dashboard for Avalanche L1s — with a few neighbouring Ethereum L2s alongside for sanity checking. (Avalanche renamed “Subnet” to “L1” in the Etna upgrade; we use the new term in user-facing labels and keep the brand name as a memento.)

What this is

A read-only aggregator. Pull TVL from DefiLlama, tx-24h from each chain's own JSON-RPC, validator info from the Avalanche P-Chain, token data from CoinGecko, and put them in one place with consistent formatting and explicit freshness labels.

The Avalanche L1 community already has an explorer per chain (Routescan, subnets.avax.network) and great cross-chain tools (DefiLlama, L2Beat). This isn't trying to replace any of them — it just stitches the pieces that matter for a portfolio / research view of the Avalanche L1 ecosystem into a single page.

What it isn't

  • Not investment advice. Numbers can be stale, wrong, or both.
  • Not a block explorer. For per-tx detail, follow the explorer link on each chain's detail page.
  • Not a custodian / wallet. SubnetScope never asks for keys or signatures. Read-only by design.

Honesty rules

  1. Source & freshness on every number. If you can't see where a value came from and when, the page is broken — please file an issue.
  2. N/A is a real value. When a source is rate-limited, the chain isn't tracked there, or curation hasn't happened yet, the UI shows N/A with the actual reason. We don't fabricate.
  3. tx-24h is an estimate. Computed by sampling 8 blocks across the 24h window — see methodology for the arithmetic. Always shown as “est.”

Curation status

L1 identity (logos, RPCs, CoinGecko IDs, P-Chain subnet IDs) lives in a hand-curated subnets.json. Pull requests are welcome — particularly for adding morevalidatorSubnetIdentries so more L1s get a fully populated Validators tab. (The P-Chain itself still calls these “subnetIDs”, so the field name keeps the platform vocabulary.)
